YARD DEBRIS

Leaf Pickup

Leaves at a Glance

  • Loose leaves only — absolutely no bags.

  • Curb/edge of lawn, not in the roadway.

  • Out by 7:00 a.m. on pickup day.

  • Keep 3 ft clear of drains, hydrants, sidewalks, and parked cars.

  • Remove contaminants: sticks/branches, stones, trash, pet waste, dirt.

Overview

Our crew provides weekly, seasonal leaf pickup using a curbside leaf vacuum. Please rake loose leaves to the curb (edge of lawn), not into the street. No bags. Remove sticks, branches, rocks, and trash. Keep piles clear of storm drains, hydrants, sidewalks, and parked cars. Set piles out by 7:00 a.m. on pickup days. Weather and equipment may shift routes.

Set-Out Instructions

  1. Rake leaves into low, reachable windrows along the curb.

  2. Keep piles off pavement and out of gutters; do not block sidewalks or lanes.

  3. Pull parked vehicles a few feet back so the hose can reach.

  4. Check piles after windy weather; restack if needed.

What Not to Include

  • No sticks/branches (they jam the vacuum).

  • No bagged material of any kind.

  • No grass clippings or soil.

  • No trash, cords, or fencing.

Schedule & Routes

  • Service is weekly during the fall season (exact dates announced via Announcements).

  • Routes may change based on volume, weather, and equipment.

  • If we miss your street, we will return on a later pass.

Missed Collection

  • Leave piles in place, neat and reachable.

  • We’ll collect on the next round; no need to call unless piles are blocked or contaminated.

Green Dump Closed

UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Overview

The brush drop is temporarily closed to protect residents and the stream area and to bring the site into compliance with current rules. The closure followed a period when materials the site wasn’t intended to accept were left there, and later grading moved mixed debris toward the slope—conditions that require a controlled clean-up and clearer operating rules.

What We’re Reviewing

The Board is evaluating a simple, sustainable approach that fits our staffing and budget. Options discussed (no decisions yet) include:

  • A lean resident drop with clearly marked areas and limited daylight hours.

  • A DPW-only approach (Village use; chips may be made available to residents).

  • Closure with seasonal pickups (spring/fall).

Status & Updates

The site remains closed until further notice. Please do not leave material at the gate. Updates will be posted at the Village Office, Post Office, and Library.
