The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Otsego County from 1:00 PM today (Friday) through 12:00 PM Saturday. Heavy snow is expected, with total accumulations of 8-12 inches. Travel could be very difficult, and hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute.

If you can postpone driving, please do. If you must travel, plan ahead and assume roads will worsen quickly late this afternoon and this evening.

NO PARKING ON VILLAGE STREETS (IMPORTANT)

To allow plows and emergency vehicles to operate, please keep ALL vehicles off Village streets starting at 12:00 PM today through 12:00 PM Saturday (or until streets are fully cleared). Vehicles left on the street can block plowing, slow emergency response, and create unsafe conditions.

WHAT RESIDENTS SHOULD DO TODAY

Charge phones/backup batteries, keep flashlights ready, and stock essentials (food, water, medications). Bring bins in and keep them off road edges. Clear snow away from heating vents/exits, and check on neighbors who may need help. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle.
